High Tech Computer (HTC) announced that it will acquire over a 50% stake in Dopod (Cayman) Holding Corporation with the transaction worth less than US$150 million, according to HTC's filing at the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).
Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed with Dopod, Dopod will serve as a subsidiary of HTC. Both parties are still working out the details of the agreement, according to the filing.
According to the company filing, Dopod recorded revenues of US$130 million in 2005 with profits of US$80 million.
